How the calculation works
The calculator uses these simple formulas:
Discount = Price × (Discount% / 100) Final price = Price − Discount
Where Price is the original price before the discount, and Discount% is the percentage taken off (for example, 20 means 20% off). The savings equal the discount amount. If the discount percentage is 0, the final price equals the original price; at 100% the item is free.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool upload my data? No. All calculations happen locally in your browser. Your inputs never leave your device.
Does it support stacked discounts? This version applies a single discount. For two successive discounts (e.g. 20% off, then 10% off), apply them one at a time: use the final price of the first calculation as the original price of the second.
Can the discount exceed 100%? No — a discount above 100% would make the price negative, which is not allowed. The calculator caps the discount at 100%.
Can I use a different currency? Yes. The numbers are unit-agnostic — enter values in any currency and the result will be in the same currency.
